Around the pitcher are a applied in-relief molded English hunting and harvest scenes that are in a rich cream color against a taupe background. Above the scenes is the top of the pitcher created in a glazed cobalt blue. The ribbed loop handle is 3/4 cobalt and ends in taupe. Hallmarks on the bottom include the number 3535, and the new 1901 Doulton mark featuring a lion atop a crown, intersecting D motif, and ENGLAND. The new mark used the name Royal Doulton as opposed to Doulton in order to celebrate the grant of the Royal Warrant to Doulton by King Edward VII in 1901.From 1901 to 1922 the standard mark appears with the words Royal Doulton and England. Doulton & Company was established by John Doulton at Lambeth, South London, in 1815. He hired only the finest artists for Doulton porcelain and stoneware.
